We operate the website at questing-life.com (the "Site") and the Questing Life mobile application available on Android and iOS (the "App"), collectively referred to as the "Services." This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our Services.
Please read this policy carefully. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you register for an account, we collect your name and email address. You may optionally provide additional profile information.
User-Submitted Content
We collect content you post or submit through the Services, such as comments, posts, or other contributions related to your quest chains.
Usage and Analytics Data
We automatically collect certain information when you use the Services, including your IP address, browser or device type, operating system, referring URLs, pages or screens viewed, and the dates and times of your activity. This data helps us understand how the Services are used and how to improve them.
Location Data (App only)
With your permission, the App may collect your device's location. You can control location access at any time through your device settings. We do not collect location data without your consent.
Camera and Photos (App only)
With your permission, the App may access your device's camera and photo library, for example to upload profile images or content related to your quests. We do not access your camera or photos without your consent.
Push Notification Tokens (App only)
When you opt in to push notifications, we collect a device token to deliver those notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Communications
If you contact us directly, we may retain the content of your message and your contact details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Provide, operate, and improve the Services and their features
- Display and moderate user-submitted content
- Send you service-related notifications (such as account confirmations or policy updates)
- Deliver push notifications where you have opted in
- Use location data to provide location-aware features within the App
- Process and display photos or images you choose to share
- Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
- Process billing and subscription payments

4. Third-Party Services
We work with the following third-party service providers who may process your personal data on our behalf:
Supabase — We use Supabase for our database and backend edge functions. Your account data and user-submitted content are stored on Supabase infrastructure. See their privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
Firebase (Google) — We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications on both the Site and the App. This involves the processing of device identifiers and notification preferences. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) — We use AWS for DNS and related infrastructure. See their privacy policy at aws.amazon.com/privacy.
Stripe — We use Stripe to process payments for subscriptions or other billing. Payment card information is entered directly into Stripe's secure systems and is not stored by us. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Apple App Store / Google Play Store — Distribution of the App through Apple's App Store and Google Play is subject to their respective privacy policies. These platforms may collect certain data independently in connection with app downloads and purchases.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
5. Mobile App Permissions
The Questing Life app may request the following device permissions:

You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time through your device's Settings app. Revoking a permission may limit certain App features.
6. Cookies and Tracking
We and our third-party providers may use cookies, local storage, and similar tracking technologies on the Site to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and collect analytics data. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality. The App uses equivalent device-based storage mechanisms rather than browser cookies.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our Services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory reasons. You may delete the App from your device at any time, which will remove locally stored data; account data held on our servers requires account deletion to be removed.

- Correction — Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

Our lawful bases for processing include performance of a contract (account services), legitimate interests (analytics and security), consent (push notifications, location, camera access), and legal obligation.

9. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. Our data is stored on Supabase and AWS infrastructure, which maintain industry-standard security certifications. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you, such as via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
